The Doro Liberto 820 represents one of the most complete amplified smartphones on the market. The Liberto 820 is ideal for those used to using a smartphone or keen to try one for the first time with added volume and clarity above that of a standard smartphone. Doro has a well-earned reputation for design and functional simplicity applied to contemporary features, all of which has been implemented in this, the Doro Liberto 820.

With superb clarity and volume, the Liberto 820 touch screen phone has all the modern day features you might expect including access to the internet, email, apps from Google play, and a high-quality camera for still snaps and videos. And because it's from Doro, all of these features have been provided in a simple and straightforward manner with pre-loaded tutorials on how to use them.

As for all mobile phones from HearingDirect, the Doro Liberto 820 is fully unlocked and can be used with an existing SIM/contract/PAYG. Please note, that this model uses a MicroSIM and not an ordinary sized SIM which is the case for most modern smartphones.

One clever feature of note - many of the phone settings can be remotely accessed by a third party with the owner's permission. Ideal for those that may be inclined to help customise or simplify the phone but cannot do so easily face-to-face. Simply log in to a website with a password and send updates/changes directly to the phone.

Doro phones are hearing aid compatible for those hearing aid wearers using their ‘T’ setting. TCoil.jpg

I bought this phone in early June at a very good price from Hearing Direct. At that point their service was wonderful. When it arrived there were no problems and since I had used a smartphone for about 5 years I had no trouble setting it up. The battery life seems to be good but the indicator did not seem to be accurate since one evening it said 57% and by next the morning, without any use, it was dead. Doro do answer some queries by email but are slow and I'm still waiting for a reply to the battery query. After 6 weeks the Home button stopped working. I contacted Doro and the obviously Swedish lady could not help but said she would call back when she had asked around the department. An hour later she called back and said it must be returned for an exchange because it seemed to be a hardware fault. I called Hearing Direct and their service at that point had gone up in my estimation from wonderful to exceptional. They sent me a freepost label and a replacement as soon as they got the other one back, 4 days in total. I recommend Hearing Direct without reservation and I hope this replacement will continue to work without problems. One final observation is that it doesn't seem to be possible to add widgets to the screen, perhaps because of the changes Doro have made to make it simpler. Apps are no problem.
