I would just like to say thanks to Joan for the excellent service I received on my purchase of my hearing aid. The only issue was getting the volume correct which was understandable considering this was an on-line purchase. I had to return it twice to get it adjusted and Joan was excellent in both communications and speed of service, I was offered a refund on both occasions if I wasn't satisfied which was very re-assuring. Now that the adjustments have been made the hearing aid is working perfectly.

These HD 250s are phenomenal - from a person with moderate hearing loss. This review is unsolicited and uncompensated. None of my friends, my contacts, my family, my wife, or me are associated with HD. Having had a pair of the 250s for a month now has let me use them in most of the enviroments where I would expect to use them including airlines, highway travel, crowded dining rooms, quite one-on-one conversations, and church with loud music. I can hear birds again as well as understanding high-pitched female voices. Background noise is minimized while conversation is clear and distinct. The technology is far, far superior to the behind-the-ear units that I have now retired. The appearance is much more appealing and these are quite comfortable. I feel like my hearing is now nearly restored to the way I remember it. I would rate these 250s ten stars if it were possible.

My experience working HearingDirect.com has been nothing less than exceptional! For several months my vice president, has been telling me I needed a hearing test and probably a hearing aid. So, I searched the web for "invisible hearing aids" and found HearingDirect.com. After the online audiogram, I communicated with their outstanding audiologist and shortly thereafter my HD 250 arrived. Did it make a difference? Read these anecdotal comments and see for yourself:
• There are birds singing outside my office every morning...not loud but they're there and I suspect they tweet in the range I could not hear. I hear them now.
• For conference calls, we use a thing called a PolyCom that enables multiple people in the room to hear and speak to others on the call. We did a conference call the weekend right after I got the hearing aid and when setting the volume at our end, it was only showing two bars and I could hear quite well. My vice president asked, "Do you want to hear where you used to have the volume set?" I responded, "Sure". It was deafening and there were no bars left on the volume indicator...volume was all the way to the right. Now I know why when we had conference calls in the past, she sat at her desk and not around the conference table.
• Finally, I've stopped shouting at people...now I just talk to them and in meetings I don't miss anything anymore.
• It's great!
Now that I've had the HD 250 for a while, I find that the fidelity was not what I would like. I have been in touch with HearingDirect.com and they're sending me a re-programmed HD 250...no questions asked but just wanting a satisfied customer. As soon as I receive the new device, I simply send the one I'm currently using back to them. I cannot imagine how their service could be any better than that.

Like I said before, I received a HD 250 for my left ear. I had figured, what the heck, for $300 I'll give it a shot. After using for one hour I sat down at my computer and ordered one for my right ear! The right HD 250 that I received had a persistent background hiss. I contacted Hearing Direct by e-mail with my problem, and they sent me a new right unit ASAP. The new HD 250 works great!

I finally admitted I had a hearing problem d was prescribed an NHS BTE Phonak aid. Whilst my hearing was improved it has to be said that it seemed to be a lot of the wrong sounds that were improved. The sound was very 'tinny' and came from the wrong direction, if I rested my head back on a cushion the sound from the TV disappeared. I was constantly having to fiddle with the volume and mic control on it. It was also a pain to put in/on. Worse still, whilst it is a lot smaller than the older BTE devices, other people could see that I had a hearing problem and I was very conscious of it whenever I wore it so more often than not left it out. Fair to say the Phonak and I were not going to get on.

So a Google to look at ITE aids and I fell upon Hearing Direct. I read the reviews and simply didn't believe them thinking they had been 'fiddled' as they just seemed too good to be true for the prices that were being talked about. I checked out some independent reviews and they seemed to be saying the same so opted for the HD 250, with the 30 day money back guarantee what was there to lose? To say I am totally satisfied with it would be a complete understatement. The sound quality is excellent and from the right direction. The noise reduction and voice enhancement works exceptionally well. All of this creates very natural but vastly improved hearing. sales service has been a credit to the company. The HD 250 is extremely discrete (nobody has noticed it) and very comfortable to wear. Other than my improved hearing I forget I have it in. As for value for money, a high quality ITE aid for around £200 speaks for itself. I cannot fault the HD 250 or Hearing Direct in the slightest...the only problem being I am now wondering just how good the HD 390 is!

Brilliant - I can now follow conversations in crowded pubs and restaurants. It amplifies the sounds that I did not previously hear, although overall my hearing was not severely impaired, but enough to make it impossible to properly hear in a crowded environment. It fits invisibly in the ear and no-one has noticed that I am wearing it. I found it more comfortable to wear it without fitting any of the earpieces supplied.

We bought two of these hearing aids for my Father-in-law who lives abroad, a few months ago and they were amazing, from really not hearing that well, especially on the phone, to hearing almost everything. Everything was going well until he had a scan while wearing the aids. Electro magnetic waves from the scan seem to have wiped or caused the hearing aids to stop working. I contacted Joan at Hearing Direct and after telling her what had happened asked if there was some way to reprogram or fix the hearing aids. What happened next was staggering, the next day Joan got back to me saying that they would replace the hearing aids free of charge. Hearing Direct are an amazing company with amazing people working there and that is why I would always go back to buy from them in the future. I can't really recommend this company enough. Old fashioned service from good hearted people.

I would check out of group conversations in restaurants because I couldn't hear. I also found myself reacting slowly when people spoke because I couldn't catch the entire comment and I had to rethink what I heard make an assumption of what I thought they said. I put off getting hearing aids for years due to the $5k+ price tag for quality hearing aids. Purchaed my HD250 on a whim thinking I could risk a $500 if they didn't work well. I'm happy to report that I'm very pleased with the HD250. They are comfortable and I can hear conversations well in noisy restaurants. Best of all my wife is pleased that she no longer has to repeat herself.

Okay, its only 4stars for now as, I just received my device yesterday and tried it right away. "Out of the box", I'm very happy with the device. I read the instructions, put the battery in and took it for a spin. My husband was pleased with not having to raise his voice at me, I was pleased we got to turn the TV down from where I can hear it to about 45/48 of 100 to 30/32 or where he can hear it. The thing I've noticed so far is, it doesn't increase the volume of "EVERYTHING" in my environment so, I didn't get the jitters wearing it. From units before, after wearing for a couple of hours, I was unnerved from receiving so many sounds in an elevated volume. But, this seems more natural...I'll update my review after wearing for a few weeks. So far, I am very happy with my purchase. Oh, and I had a little trouble tracking my package from the UK to the States but, after sending a message via their online messaging, I received an email the next day with the info so, I think the customer service seems good too! So, lets see if the 4 star goes to a 5!

Love my new hearing aid!

I've had my HD 250 hearing aid for over a week. I purchases the one for the left ear. I am so pleased!
I am amazed at how well it works. Right now it is on the lowest setting and once again I can hear my kitties purring, I can hear conversations without a problem, and all the small sounds that had gone by the wayside.
It only took a day or two to adjust to the feel of it in my ear. It is so small and comfortable. I've been able to wear it all day long from early morning to TV watching in the evening. The battery has lasted for a week.
I've never worn a hearing aid before but am very glad I decided to purchase this one.

ive been wearing in ear hearing aids for over ten years now the most expensive being over a £1000 for the pair i have had the hd 250 for over a year now and i fall asleep with it in my ear most nights i get no ringing in the ear which ive always gotten off my two high street brand hearing aids. one of the audiologists once told me the hearing aids cost £100 and your paying because you'll need to get them reset from time to time these hd250 have volume buttons on them and need no maintenance.Best hearing aid ive ever had

I got a right ear HD 250 hearing aid some time ago after having got an NHS one and gave up with it, It is fantastic was able to turn TV down from about 50 to23 (sound) also could make out what my friends were saying ! Thought I would try one for my left ear but sadly could not cope with that one, but hearing direct have been fantastic sent email on Sunday to say could I return it and on Monday got message to say free return label had been sent and amazingly it arrived the next day (Tuesday). So impressed with this company they really are fantastic could not recommend them enough !

After trying multiple hearing aids in past couple months, I would say it is overall great aid for mild to moderate hearing loss. It is very comfortable wearing it for long time, and id hardly visible unless someone turns to your ear and is specifically looking for it. People with these type of high frequency hearing loss must use it to know the difference I guess. Ohh yeah, before I forget, battery lasts for a week (about 16 hours a week Program 2).

I have had NHS hearing aids for several years and they work well but they are very clumsy and i feel very self conscious wearing them. The HD 250 's are excellent in almost every way and have changed my life . I now wear them almost all the time instead of selected occasions and I can pick up conversations easily even in a crowded room. I have a very narrow left ear channel and I can not fit one of the rubber caps on and it therefore gathers wax quite easily and is less comfortable than the rigjht ear (which is perfect).; but it is bearable. Feedback whine is a bit of a problem and no one has come up with any solution to answering the phone yet without taking one out. On the whole an excellent product and remarkably good value

I was referred to the Audiology Dept. of my local hospital by my GP. As a result I was fitted with Phonak behind-the-ear aids for both ears. These proved to be totally unreliable and unsuitable for anyone who wears glasses. The slightest movement caused the battery to disconnect. After some research I decided to try the HD250 for one ear and am so pleased with the result that I ordered one for the other ear. My advice is - forget the NHS - go to Hearing Direct.

I have an NHS phonak behind the ear aid which itches and interferes with glasses. I tried this HD250 expecting to send it back. But because the microphone is side facing not backwards, it makes a huge difference to hearing in the car, and especially to not hearing the back of our van rattle. In addition, I find it much better in busy restaurants, where I would often turn off my nhs one because of the overwhelming background noise. I've had it a week so far and I don't think it will be going back. A tip for people who have problems with squeaking without the smallest tip and popping with the smallest tip, cut a small v in the edge of the tip - problem solved !

I was referred for NHS hearing aid by my GP which I was given but absolutely hopeless ! Decided to try Hearing Direct and received my HD 250 hearing aid for my right ear. What a difference no whistling and could immediately turn television done from about 87 to 26 sound volume ! Also the price is fantastic in comparison to any others I have seen including Age UK.

I am writing to thank you for the HD250 hearing aid that I purchased for my wife a short time ago. She is absolutely delighted with the aid. It's small size and performance is incredible as well as its low cost. My wife is truly amazed to hear sounds that she has long forgotten ever existed. In no time she has mastered the fittings and experimented with the different wax guards ,opting for the smallest one. I am just sorry I didn´t buy this product ages ago. I didn´t realise how hard of hearing I was until I started to use the aid. One little criticism is if its in too long it becomes a little irritating but I may get more used to it in time. Great product.

I recently paid well over a thousand pounds for a so called top of the range hearing aids for both ears. I was disappointed and so looked at Hearing Direct. After much research decided to try an in the ear aid although didn't fancy it very much! I am absolutely 100% happy with my HD250. I can regulate the sound level and in fact listening to TV I keep turning the volume down, and my wife has to keep on telling me to turn the volume up!! She now is in charge of the remote!
